SENSAPHONE RoHS Compliance

In January 2003, the European Parliament and The Council Of The European Union created the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC for the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This Directive, commonly referred to as RoHS, is scheduled to be in effect throughout the European Union on July 1, 2006.

Article 2 of the Directive specifies which categories of electronic devices it applies to. All Sensaphone Monitoring Products fall into Category 9: "Monitoring and Control Instruments" as defined in Annex 1A of the 2002/96/EC Directive. According to Article 2 of the 2002/95/EC Directive, electronic devices in Category 9 are excluded from the RoHS requirements.

Therefore, Sensaphone products are not required to be RoHS compliant.

However, Sensaphone recognizes the environmental benefits of eliminating hazardous substances from our products. Our engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams have been actively working since 2004 to convert our products to be RoHS compliant.
