Aston, PA, March 16, 2011— Sensaphone® announced the availability of its SCADA 3000 Monitoring System, for cost-efficient, quality performance for applications in groundwater remediation processes including cleaning water and/or soil that has become contaminated as the result of storage tank leakage, chemical spills, waste spillage.
“Each SCADA 3000 unit can generate reports automatically by assembling data every day and sending it to the operator first thing in the morning,” explained Dave DeFusco, Vice President of Engineering at Sensaphone. “This eliminates the time-consuming chore of compiling this information manually, allowing operators to focus on other aspects of the remediation system.”
Further savings can be achieved in operation and maintenance costs because SCADA 3000 allows remote access to the groundwater remediation system by telephone. This helps avoid unnecessary or time-consuming visits to the site to check system status. Any other solution would require a separate PLC to operate the equipment, a datalogger to store process data, and an autodialer to monitor the system for continuous operation. By comparison, using separate components increases the cost and provides less capability because the components are not integrated with one another.
The Sensaphone’s SCADA 3000 control system includes powerful software and alarm features in one affordable, easy-so-use system. It helps monitor, control, and prevent costly and dangerous industrial accidents or downtime in processes. This is of great importance to environmental companies that provide engineering services for hazardous waste cleanup
• Sensaphone SCADA 3000 offers built-in alarm notification to call users using their own pre-recorded voice messages to alert to the situation, or contact users with alarm reports via numeric/alphanumeric pager, fax, or e-mail. Users can alarm up to 64 events from any input, output variable, or value that has a UAF.
• Sensaphone SCADA 3000’s built-in data logging can store up to 50,000 samples from up to 128 I/O points or system variables (UAFs), date and time stamp, and query multiple units and display the information in grid for- mat. Sensaphone SCADA 3000 also offers downloadable event logging, graphing, and polling; and enables real- time data and event logging record information at specified intervals. The systems’ data recording feature collects, stores, and sends data from industrial controllers, chart recorders, and network servers.
• Flexible communication options allow the Sensaphone SCADA 3000 system to constantly communicate with a host PC through standard data radio, ordinary telephone lines, or a mix of both, to receive information from receiver/transmitter units (RTUs) on an as-needed basis.
• Sensaphone SCADA 3000 delivers security by providing flexible power sources—intelligent battery charging, safe battery cut-off, and even built-in support for solar power. The Sensaphone SCADA 3000 system also provides a Real-Time Screen Builder to create a custom screen using standard graphical representations of processes to show the real-time status of I/O values and process variables.
