Upgraded Sensaphone IMS-4000 Remote Monitoring System Expands with Growing Data Centers

ASTON, Pa., April 1, 2016 – Sensaphone® will introduce its upgraded Infrastructure Monitoring System (IMS) 4000 system to IT professionals at booth 701 at the Interop Expo. The IMS-4000 system provides low-cost, 24/7 monitoring of data center conditions across multiple locations. The upgraded IMS-4000 system features a web-based responsive user interface with a custom dashboard that makes it easy for users to manage larger networks.

The upgraded IMS-4000 system provides increased security and reporting features. New video capabilities enable many different camera brands to interface with the host to capture snapshots during alarm events. In addition, Sensaphone is also refreshing the system’s logos, labels, and product literature.

The IMS-4000 system simultaneously monitors the data center environment and network devices with IP addresses, such as network links, routers, printers, and servers. Each host supports up to eight environmental sensors to monitor critical conditions including temperature, humidity, smoke, sound level, motion, water leaks, intrusion and power outages.

Users can expand their infrastructure by connecting up to 31 expansion nodes to the base unit. Each node can monitor eight inputs for environmental conditions or alarm contacts from other computer equipment such as uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. In addition, each IMS-4000 system can monitor up to 64 network devices per host or node. When the system identifies a potential problem, it immediately sends alerts through Ethernet and telephone connections.

“Because it can monitor multiple locations, the IMS-4000 system is ideal for large and growing data centers,” said Dave DeFusco, vice president of engineering at Sensaphone. “The upgraded features make it simple for data center operators to manage equipment and conditions around the clock, no matter where their centers are located.”

In addition to the IMS-4000, Sensaphone will showcase its full suite of data center monitoring solutions at Interop including the Sentinel, IMS-1000, Web600 and WSG30 systems.

Sentinel
The Sentinel system uses cloud technology to provide supervised 24/7 remote monitoring of environmental conditions and unattended equipment. Only one unit is required to monitor up to 12 different environmental and equipment status conditions including temperatures from -85 °C to 76 °C (-109 °F to 168 °F), humidity, water detection, and power failure. When the system detects a problem, it instantly sends alerts via phone, text or email. Data is never lost and can be viewed via the Sensaphone iPhone/Android app or sensaphone.net. The Sentinel system constantly communicates a signal to the Sensaphone cloud to validate its online status. If the communication link is interrupted, the system generates an alarm indicating that the Internet connection is lost or that there is a cellular communications problem. Users are alerted about the disruption through phone, text or email.

IMS-1000
The IMS-1000 system is a lower-cost, non-expandable version of the IMS 4000 with the needs of smaller facilities in mind. It supports up to eight environmental sensors to monitor critical conditions including temperature, humidity, smoke, sound level, motion, water leaks, intrusion and power outages. It also monitors devices with IP addresses, such as network links, routers, printers and servers. The IMS-1000 system can monitor up to 16 devices and immediately sends an alert through Ethernet and telephone connections when it detects a problem.

Web600
The Web600 system is an easy, cost-effective, network-based monitoring solution ideal for smaller-scale computer rooms The system can monitor up to six external conditions including temperature, humidity, air quality, power failure and water leaks. Web600 users can make programming changes, access status conditions and review data logs online through a webpage the device hosts on a local network. The system’s advanced data logging can record up to 100,000 records. In the event of an alarm, the system can notify as many as eight people by email, text message or SNMP trap.

WSG30
The WSG30 system is a powerful wireless web-based monitoring, alarm and event logging solution. This system will automatically scan for and configure up to 30 wireless sensors so that users can begin to monitor conditions immediately. The WSG30 system notifies up to eight people by email, text message or SNMP in the event of an alarm. WSG30 users can make programming changes, access status conditions and review data logs online through a webpage the device hosts on a local network.
