Sentinel System Provides an Easy, Affordable Monitoring Solution for Livestock Facilities

ASTON, Pa., April 15, 2021 – Maintaining stable environmental conditions is vital to keeping livestock safe and facilities running smoothly. The Sentinel™ monitoring system from Sensaphone enables operators to track temperature, humidity, ventilation, soil moisture, carbon dioxide, water pH, power failure and more. When the Sentinel system detects that a sensor reading has moved out of the preset range, it sends an immediate notification via phone call, text or email to designated personnel, so they can take fast corrective action.

With the cloud-based Sentinel monitoring system, operators can access real-time data around the clock from anywhere using a mobile device or computer. They can also check status information, change settings, disable alarms and readjust temperature limits right from the Sensaphone app.

The Sentinel monitoring system also provides unlimited data logging of critical environmental conditions over time, which helps operators to identify trends that could indicate potential equipment issues before they become major problems.

Sensaphone offers both cellular and Ethernet versions of the Sentinel system. Each system monitors up to 12 different environmental and equipment status conditions. Housed in a NEMA 4X enclosure, the Sentinel unit is protected from dust, dirt and moisture both indoors and out.

The Sentinel system constantly communicates a signal to the Sensaphone cloud to validate its online status. If the communication link is interrupted—for example by a power outage or someone accidentally switching off the unit—the system generates an alert indicating that there is a cellular communications problem or the internet connection is lost. Users are notified about the disruption through phone, text or email.
