VFC Refrigerator Temperature Sensor with Display

The Temperature Sensor Display helps meet compliance when monitoring vaccines for the CDC’s Vaccines For Children (VFC) program. From the factory, the display comes with a NIST certified temperature probe in a glass bead buffered bottle for installation inside of the refrigerator. The display is mounted to the outside of the refrigerator and then connected to a Sensaphone system that is capable of data logging.

Users can read the refrigerator’s temperature on a 2” LCD display while the device passes the data along to the Sensaphone. Data can be viewed remotely, data logged, and monitored for high and low-temperature alarms.

The Local Temperature Display also:

  • Displays the highest and lowest temperatures
  • Provides an audible alarm for out-of-range temperatures
  • Can turn on a light or siren for additional onsite alarm notifications

When the temperature falls out of the programmed high and low limits, the display triggers an audible alarm, immediately alerting onsite staff of a potential problem. This alarm is in addition to the alerts that the Sensaphone monitoring system sends to designated personnel when temperatures fall out of range.

The display comes with a plug-in power supply and a battery that powers the device in the event of a power failure.

  • Sensphone offers sensors buffered in glycol or glass bead-filled bottles. Both types ensure that readings represent the temperature of the refrigerators contents rather than the ambient air temperature. And both types are traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.
